INTRODUCING
BUMP OUT
5-PERSON VARIATION
The object of BUMP OUT is to NOT have points assigned against you. Starting with the youngest person sitting out, game set up and play proceeds as normal with the follow exceptions.
When a rally is concluded, the point is assigned against the individual player who lost the rally. This could be because a shot hit against the defending player was a successful score or a shot hit by the player was a fault. The player who lost the rally is assigned a point and sits out, being replaced by the player currently sitting out.
Game play continues as usual with the exception that after each rally, the player sitting out assumes the position of the player who lost the rally.
Each player keeps track of their own score.
When starting a new rally, the server only needs state their individual score, NOT ALL THE PLAYER’S SCORES.
If a shot down the middle is successful, both the defending players are assigned a point, and the older player sits out.
The first player to reach 6 points loses and the game is over.
Keep in mind that server rotation continues as normal even if a new player rotates into the server two position.
NOTE: Prior to playing BUMP OUT, players should be proficient in the 4 player version.
